Public Safety Advisory

This is an urgent public safety advisory for Sandtown residents, to exercise extreme caution when outdoors due to repeated sightings of Presa Canario dogs running loose in the Wallace Road Area in unincorporated South Fulton in the Sandtown Community. Neighbors have repeatedly reported multiple violations of the leash law to Animal Control and Fulton County Police.

This breed is classified as one of the top 10 most dangerous dogs and it resembles a Pitt Bull, but is much larger - almost the stature of a Great Dane.  Parents particularly in the Wallace Road area should also exercise caution when their children are outside playing or travelling to and from the school bus stop.

One of these dogs challenged a neighbor in the 2100 block of Wallace when she walked out of her front door.  Walkers and hikers should carry a cell phone and mace, a golf club, stick or bat. Should you spot one of these or other dangerous dogs running loose beware.

Due to the aggressive nature exhibited by these individual Presa Canarios in particular, should you encounter them running loose, call 911 and also call Animal Control - when you are in a safe location at 404-613-0358
